The recess or drive size is matched to the tool used on your line. State the driver size or the torque target on the drawing so the head and the drive are reviewed together with the head diameter.
Salt-spray testing is recorded as customized, which means the test duration and the acceptance criterion are set with the order instead of being published as a fixed figure. Where a project specifies a duration, that duration becomes the inspection requirement for the batch.
Packing is recorded as plastic bag + carton. Parts are bagged before they go into the carton so the thread and the head are protected in transit.

Food-processing equipment. On screws on guards, trays and frames that are washed down every shift, the head and the thread pit and the screw seizes in the frame. The machine is stripped for cleaning and the fixings are replaced, because the grade and the surface passivation do not match the wash chemistry. We control it at the source: the grade is fixed on the drawing and the passivation is controlled before packing.
Pharmaceutical and laboratory equipment. On fixings inside clean enclosures and on instrument panels, particles from a damaged plating or a burred thread contaminate the enclosure. The enclosure is cleaned and re-qualified and the batch is held, because burrs at the thread ends and the point are left after rolling. We control it at the source: thread ends and the point are deburred and the parts are cleaned before the bag is sealed.
Outdoor and marine hardware. On screws on railings, cabinets and brackets exposed to salt air, the thread creeps and the joint loosens as the parts expand and contract. The fixture is refastened every season and the surface is touched up, because the finish and the thread fit do not allow for thermal movement. We control it at the source: the finish thickness and the thread fit class are set so the joint stays tight across the temperature range.
